The arc of childhood and the growth of a family in photos

Argentinian artist Diego Goldberg started a family tradition: every year on June 17, he photographs his family. For 30 years he has sat them down, photographed them from the same angle, and chronicled their aging and growth. I have seen similar projects done with individuals, but this is the first I have seen of an entire family, and the results are amazing. Simply by scrolling down this entire page, you can watch babies turn into teens, and young parents become middle-aged.What an amazing work, and it truly is such a wonderful result of a very cool family tradition. Diego's photos have even inspired some others to give it a go with their families.

Every year on my boy's birthdays I take a picture of them standing in front of their dad (6'3"). My dad did this with my grandad, standing in front of him until he got too tall and had to stand next to him. I can't wait to see mine do the same!

I think this is a fantastic family tradition - thanks for sharing the idea. I'm a few days into the taking 365-photos-this-year challenge; I'll have to add this to the pile.

That is tres cool. It kinda nicely illustrates how much women (the mom in this case) are constantly changing their hairstyle, and men don't! (OK the kids did a bit, but the Dad had shockingly static hairstyles...)
